Take the time to inspect your window wells for any separation from the well to the concrete. There should be no gaps. The depth of the window well should be well below the height of the window itself. The well should also be high enough so that it is not creating a funnel (sloping inward). The well needs to be the proper hight so that water is not funneling in. While inspecting your well, check for vegetation growing through the sides of the well. This could be an indication that water is seeping into your well, and could become a much bigger problem in the future. Also check for any gravel or dirt making its way through the sides of your well. This again could lead to a much bigger problem in the future, and allow water into your well. Make sure that the window well is attached and sealed properly. We suggest window well covers to be polybycarbonate to protect the inner window well from debris and to keep animals out. This way your window well will last longer, and no damage or wear and tear is occurring on the inside of the well. Adding a window well cover will also ensure that the window well stays cleaner. These window well covers can support up to 500 pounds of weight.
